Ashley Hill
CLICK HERE to see a MAP of this location.
Ashley Hill opened on the 13th of August 1863 and closed on the 23rd of November 1964.
If you would like to see what this station looked like in 1983, back when it had four tracks and a platform, I suggest you check out Hils Photo Gallery.
This first photo was kindly sent to me by Peter Rendall of Past Track Publications. Peter specializes in reproducing actual-size diagrams from most of the Bristol area signalboxes. Please check out his website :)

The next set of pics were taken on a miserable February 2004 day.

A few people have mentioned that this website encourages trespass so this shot shows how I got most of the pics at this location. Right next to the fence is this old section of broad gauge rail. I stood on it!

The view south along the site of the station. Just around the bend, and down a steep hill, is Narroways Junction. The board with the red stripes on it alert the driver that he is approaching a signal.

The view north. I'm hanging out of a tree to get this shot...

A view from Station Road of the embankment north of Ashley Hill. The bridge just visible in this shot is the one at Muller Road.

An undated view of Ashley Hill Station Hotel.

A similar view taken on 27.6.06. There's a distinct lack of chimneys and the front door has been bricked up.

|
And another view crated by stitching 6 photos together to create a wide-angle effect.
