Perrygrove Railway

Post by madhattie »

A bit out of the area, but today I was surprised with a visit to the Perrygrove Railway Adventure and the Hopewell Colliery Museum. Here's some pics. I took more, but they all have various members of my family pulling funny faces in them...

Never heard of this one. Only an hour away from Bristol so still fairly local. Looks like a fun day out for kids of all ages and not a smart phone in sight in the photos on their website. Proper outdoor entertainment as it was when we were younger. What's not to like!

To be honest I didn't think there was enough to keep my kids happy if they were still of the age to do Treetops and tunnel mazes etc, but I imagine it would be a better experience on days when the steam engines are working. I would recommend anyone visiting to also visit either the mine like I did, or Puzzlewood which is opposite and quite gorgeous, or even the Sculpture Trail which is ten minutes away.
