Congresbury Station platforms to be Uncovered

Somerset Live reports that the currently overgrown platforms at Congresbury are to be uncovered for the first time in decades by members of a local wildlife group.

There is a good shot in the Archive Gallery of what looks like an Ivatt Mickey Mouse tank heading towards Yatton. We were fortunate not to lose that part of the Archive when the forum crashed. Back in the late 50s day trips to Weston were usually by double decker bus. I can remember crossing the line on the overbridge but don't recall ever seeing a train.

I wonder if the local wildlife might prefer the site to be left overgrown.
