To Bristol: The Portway
To Avonmouth: River Trym
Originally opened on the 6th March 1865 as a single platform with a wooden office. The station was rebuilt in 1906 when the line was doubled.
Standing at the Bristol end of the station and viewing the bridge that takes The Portway over the railway.
The same view zoomed out.
The view along the platform from the Bristol end of the station.
The first of two platform shelters.
An electrical cabinet stashed away behind the platform shelters.
A look back along the platform from the gated crossing at the Avonmouth end of the station.
The station building viewed from the platform side.
The station building as viewed from the approach road. The date 1906 is embedded into the gable. This is when the station was rebuilt and the line doubled.
Immediately out of the station the railway crosses the River Trym.
The station has been spruced up a bit since my last visit.
