In February [[2006]], Platform 2 was raised by 30cm to reduce the large gap between train and platform. (It was lowered in [[1988]] as part of a realignment of track through the station which allowed trains to pass at a faster speed). Opened on the 2nd February 1857. Closed to goods on 10the June 1963.
