History
Originally opened on the 6th March 1865 as a single platform with a wooden office. The station was rebuilt in 1906 when the line was doubled.

The station has been spruced up a bit since my last visit.

A visit during May brings a much improved station. Rubbish bins, cycle parking, customer service points, platform improvements etc.

Unusually, the bus shelter previously installed has now been removed leaving just the original one.
