History
The original Avonmouth Dock station was opened on the 24th February 1877. The current station replaced it and was opened on the 1st September 1885.

Trains don't always run as far as Severn Beach. Sometimes passengers have to depart at Avonmouth and catch a bus the rest of the way.

The old station building has now been demolished and replaced by a large bus stop type shelter. The shelter seen in the 2006 photos has been removed.

The station has been smartened up with new paint, flower beds, cycle parking, customer service points etc.
