She picks up more wagons. It's interesting that the match wagon is just a normal five plank open, I've always remembered these locos as being matched with a Conflat. 03382 was a long-standing Bath Road Depot loco. She was transferred to Landore in 1981 before being withdrawn from there in October 1983. She was cut up at Swindon Works in February 1986. © Dunstable Dasher

Some of the wagons are then fly shunted into the correct place. © Dunstable Dasher

The loco sits across the crossing once again. Traffic could be stopped at Barton Road for a considerable time and in the days of steam provision was made for pedestrians in the shape of a footbridge. © Dunstable Dasher

The same view as in the previous photo.
-
In this photo I've zoomed in on the bridge at Kingsland Road.
-
The embedded rails crossing Barton Road were pretty well the only bit of the railway actually left at this spot.
-
The view from Barton Road towards Avon Street with Temple Meads beyond that. Note that the level crossing gate was still in place.
-
Another view from Barton Road. The views in the last couple of photos disappeared behind new housing.

-
The 2004 view from Barton Road across to Avonside Wharf. Work had started on the regeneration of the area.
-
The view across to Temple Meads.
-
This is the building was standing next to the crossing on Barton Road and is visible in quite a few of the photos on the Avon Street page. I'm archiving it here because it's hard to imagine it lasting much longer.
-
The front of the building.
2006
-
A view along the trackbed in 2006. The route has reverted to use as a transport corridor.
-
Welcome to The Dings.
-
The 2006 zoomed view of the bridge at Kingsland Road.
-
The view towards the harbour. Temple Meads is no longer visible as modern housing goes up.
-
The view across the level crossing. The rail has been removed and stone setts make up the road surface.
-
One of the level crossing gate posts has survived despite all the new development in the area.
-
My favourite building still stands.
