History

This was the terminus of the Bristol and Gloucestershire Railway, a line built to bring coal from the coalfields north of Bristol to the heart of the city. It's a shame that nothing stands here to inform the casual observer of the historical importance of the area. In modern times the line became a branch from Lawrence Hill to a cement terminal and was worked by Class 03 locomotives from Bath Rd Depot.
