19th. Work starts at Shirehampton on the Bristol Port Railway & Pier railway.

13th. Ashley Hill station opened.
25th. New Passage Pier officially opened.

September

8th. Lawrence Hill station opened.
8th. New Passage Pier opened to passengers.
8th. Original Patchway station opened.
8th. Stapleton Road station opened.

October

7th. First turf of the Bristol & North Somerset Railway turned at Clutton.
