9th. Loops joining the GWR and LMS at Yate opened.

1st. GWR starts direct service between Wolverhampton and Bristol using running powers over the MR.
8th. Royal Edward Dock station opens.

October

27th. Patchway and Stoke Gifford station renamed Patchway.
