History
This viaduct spans the River Avon, Victoria Street, Albert Road and Victoria Road.
1986

A rather poor shot taken in 1986. A road used to pass under the bridge and the whole area was enclosed and dark.
1993

An excellent pic along Albert Road with the railway bridge in the distance. All this has now changed. © Clive Moore
2004
-
A 2004 view along the road to compare with Clive's 1993 pic.
-
Technically speaking this could, I guess, be Victoria Road. The Bristol relief line passes over Albert Road and the River Avon on a long viaduct.
-
Standing underneath the girder section and looking East.
-
The railway runs along Victoria Street before crossing the river Avon. The building on the left is the Bristol Dogs Home and the area to the right has just been redeveloped.
-
The same stretch of viaduct viewed from the river bank. At the extreme right the railway passes under Bath Road.
-
The view from underneath looking West. Mostly included because I'm a sucker for these kind of shots. Looks great in B&W too...
-
The view along the footpath that also crosses the river at this spot. The bridge taking Bath Road over the relief line can be seen, as can the huge retaining wall which is visible at the back of any photo of Bath Road Depot
