Looking along Stapleton Road with the original bridge behind the one added when the lines were quadrupled. Ironically, the original bridge is still in use while the newer one is considered dangerous and beyond repair.
-
Looking in the opposite direction. This is the original arch across the road.
-
Next to the arch is this impressive gothic entrance to the station.
-
The view underneath the arches taken from a footpath that runs parallel with Stapleton Road.
-
Underneath the bridge. The retaining wall in this shot used to hold back the River Frome before it was diverted during the construction of the M32.
-
Looking under the much patched-up and strengthened original railway viaduct. The old course of the river is clearly visible.
-
The view in the opposite direction. The strengthening that has been needed to keep the viaduct together can clearly be seen.
