History
The Apple & Pear were two large nodules of sandstone dug out of tunnels in St Annes, Bristol during the construction of the Great Western Railway. Both stones were mounted on a plinth at the Bristol end of St Anne's Park station. British Rail Western Region donated the stones to Bristol University in April 1965.
