History
Opened as a single platform on 8th September 1863. The line was doubled and an extra platform added in 1874. Quadrupling and another platform were completed in November 1891. Closed to goods on 29th November 1965.

6822 Manton Grange heads a train bound for Cardiff through Lawrence Hill sometime in the 1960s. This loco was withdrawn in September 1964 and scrapped at Birds, Swansea. At the time of it's withdrawal it was allocated to Bristol Barrow Rd. © Roger Porch

A general view of the station. New platform shelters had been installed and their locations moved closer to the pedestrian entrance. The station had been given a bit of a spruce up.

The ex-main lines were becoming very overgrown which detracted considerably from the efforts to clean the station area up.
