The Western Fuel Company pilot, Western Pride, a Hudswell Clarke, (formerly PBA no.30, ), leaves Ashton Meadows Sidings with the train in the previous photo, en route to the Coal Concentration Depot at Wapping Wharf. The Western Fuel Company had been responsible for operating this line since 26th August 1977. 11/2/80 © Kevin Redwood

These container flats were stored for ages at Ashton Meadows while the local council disputed the cost of a proposed refuse service that they were to be used for.

Most of the site had now been cleared, but a few rails had been pulled up and left in situ.
