Iron Acton: Iron Acton
End of the Line!
History
The extension of the line from Iron Acton to the iron mines at Frampton Cotterell was authorised in an act of parliament in 1865, with construction finishing in 1872. The railway was not a success however, and closure came about as early as 1878.
