Buried in the undergrowth at the Severn Beach end of the Chittening Trading Estate is the track work that once carried freight from the former PhilBlack Works.

This was the site of the level crossing that lead into the works. Chittening Road, Avonmouth.

The works are now owned by the Columbian Chemical Company and the offices behind this sign are built on the alignment of the old railway system.

A 1980s sun is low in the sky and glistens on a long abandoned section of siding that led to the British Gas Hallen Works. The PhilBlack works visible in the background.

Another section of disused track that lead to the rail system at the power station at Hallen, Avonmouth. This route is now a foot/cyclepath but pictures of the railway system employed by the gas works can be seen on the Gas Works page.
