The view from Sergeant's Bridge towards Bristol.
-
Looking across the bridge. This is bridge No. 282 and was built to carry a private road over the railway to Sereant's Farm which lay to the north of the railway. The farm is now a housing estate and the bridge conveys pedestrians from it to Wapley Common.

Included for completeness. A not too brilliant photo of the bridge as viewed from a mass of brambles.

Looking east. Westerleigh East signalbox stood on the spot currently occupied by the silver box at the right of the photo, while the yard was sited on the green strip of land to the left. Wapley Common Signal Box (pictured above) was on the right of the tracks, in the distance, just about where the mainline disappears from view. Compare this picture to Peter's above!
