To Springfield Colliery: Springfield Colliery
History
Old Mills Colliery was connected to Springfield Colliery by a 2ft narrow gauge railway until 1941 when they became connected underground. Once the collieries were connected they were both known by the name Old Mills. The conical spoil heap of this colliery still stands today.
