History

Described as Footbridge no. 288B. There are two spans, the main arch which is 57' 6" and a smaller span joined to it which is 26'. The bridge has a headway of 19' 6".

  Looking in the direction of Bristol, this is the site of Coalpit Heath station. The buildings nearest are close to the site of Ram Hill Pit, while those in the distance are built on the site of the station itself.

  Looking east from the bridge. It's just possible to make out the abutments from the bridge at Frog Lane in this photo. This was another colliery railway that passed under the mainline, but which also had a spur that ran up to the left of the mainline just under were I'm stood while taking the photo.

  A photo taken on 6.6.05. All the signals in the area were stuck on red after a cable had been cut near Westerleigh. Trains were slowing down as they approached a signal, blowing their horns vigorously, and then driving straight through the reds without stopping!
