The view towards Bristol. Just around the bend is the bridge on Bonnington Walk, Lockleaze. A huge amount of undergrowth was cut away from this embankment in the summer of 2003.

At the side of the track workmen were installing trunking in preparation for the installation of a third running track and platform face. Meanwhile 143615 got the feather for Cardiff Central as it approached Filton Abbey Wood station.

The same train stopped at the station. At exactly the same time, the heavens opened and I legged it back to me van..

Looking towards Bristol and one running rail had been removed to allow drainage work to take place.

Looking towards Filton Abbey Wood. The train was top and tailed with Class 66s and was being filled with spent ballast. Another train waited in the station for more of the same. It was absolutely chucking it down when I took this!

The trackbed had had drainage installed and been ballasted ready for track. Most of the work going on at this spot concerned the signalling, and a new junction signal can be seen being installed in the background.

During March 2007 the footbridge was covered with an anti-vandal cage.

A week later, and the work was almost finished.

Meanwhile a Voyager came to a stand at a red signal and the driver contacted the signal box.

158776 entered Filton Abbey Wood and the Voyager continued her journey north.
